There are not many choices of Artillery used in the 16th and 17th century.  Nice to see that Mars offered a new set dealing with that Topic. PRS has presented it in detail. Although it is one of the stronger Mars sets, but as compared with the often discussed sets of Revell or Call to Arms it is worlds apart. However, as a small short project I wanted to build a small unit of Imperial Artillery training with their gun in front of a house.

The gun barrel is slightly warped, the carriage is not really detailed but ok, the wheels are unfortunately a disaster. Even after half an hour of trying to get rid of the mould  I gave up
- and just put wheels from Zvezda Swedish Artillery of Charles XII on the canon and highlighted the wheels with a bit of putty and detailed them on the painting.
Some of the figures are nevertheless quite nice and with some patience you can really do something out of them. The small diorama is not quite finished yet - more is coming soon.
